Our story
Ghanaian-based designer, Naa Amanua Williams, founded Emma Bird, in 2016. Inspired by her grandmother, Emma Bird, who had a passion for fashion and often spoke about the importance of how one’s dressing should compliment their bodies and assets.
Emma Bird is an African brand focused on creating authentic hand-made accessories which empowers women with their own unique sense of style. Emma Bird’s signature look is distinguished by the innovative usage of fabric in creating fashion accessories.
All Emma Bird pieces are skillfully handcrafted and the high-end pieces are the epitome of impeccable craftsmanship which serve to distinguish Emma Bird collections from other jewelry lines on the market. The brand has expanded beyond Ghana to the United States, Europe and other African countries..

Behind the Design
A graduate from The London College of Fashion with a degree in Surface Design Technology, Naa Amanua Williams, became the first ever Style Coordinator and Fashion Designer for DaViva and through this, she oversaw and led the brand to some of the renowned fashion shows in London, Paris, Niger, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal and Togo.
She is widely acknowledged for her role in creating and launching the first ever DaViva clothing line in September 2009 and Prior to working at DaViva, she was a freelance designer working in textiles for fashion and furnishings in the UK and Thailand. She has gained a great deal of knowledge and expertise in textiles, pattern design, styling, material development and jewellery.
Naa Williams started Emma Bird as a hobby but turned into a business when several orders were placed for the jewellery made for a select few. Her work pushes the boundaries and she combines her various experiences, ideas into the designs of Emma Bird.
